Happy Hooves Equine Rescue strives to create a shelter for equines. It is a rescue that provides care, rehabilitation and adoption services for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted horses. Continuing care through veterinary services, equine dentistry, and our farrier is provided to all of our rescue horses while they are with us. Liberty Prairie Farm has become a nurturing home for the horses of Happy Hooves Equine Rescue.
Happy Hooves has accepted horses with both physical and emotional issues as well as horses who were no longer able to perform up to the standards that their former owners desired. We have assisted many horses and ponies in finding homes with people who love them, are willing to do what is necessary to provide appropriate care for their well-being, and give them a second chance at being useful riding horses or pasture companions. We have also incorporated many horses into our lesson program at Liberty Prairie Farm. These horses have become kind and patient teachers to our students, both children and adults. We cannot underestimate the importance of making a horse feel that they have a purpose in life.
We at Happy Hooves Equine Rescue appreciate the time you take to browse our website to learn about our rescue and to meet the horses who are waiting for a second chance in life. Some are currently available for adoption and some have already been adopted to loving, forever homes.
Before considering making our horses available for adoption, we ensure that all animals are fully recovered and ready to lead productive lives. We also make sure that they have the proper temperament that will allow them to form partnerships with people, whether they are lesson students or adopters. Our professionals not only assess their ability to be ridden, but also determine the level of rider for whom they are best suited. By the time a rescue horse is adopted by a new owner, we know them extremely well and are able to pass that knowledge along to the adopter.
This is a carefully thought-out and necessary process to insure that their futures will be bright and happy. Assuring that they are kept in safe and caring homes for the rest of their lives is most important to us.
